And a great virus washed the Earth of its plague.
A blank stare, phallus in the skyline
and a hollow heart sets in the west -
magentas and reds all clouding the future.
There’s a great rain on the horizon,
a moonlight implied by the needles in the gutter
or tik tok.
The California poppy,
the sex shop poppers
and good times were had in handcuffs
while a great virus washed the Earth of its plague.
Gatherings are banned
people will die
if they we are together.
Hope used to jack us through the nose,
and out the mind
but now it has
brain freeze.
It must’ve gone skiing
somewhere far and european
to feel so glamorous in rhinestones
and brass,
because hope is an immigrant
like the rest of the charlatans
that robbed from under the native’s ass.
This is America -
land of milk, honey and viagra
prescribed to keep the stars vague.
Shining sea to sea,
there are plenty of fish to bleed while
a great virus washes the Earth of its plague.
