Hole - Noaa Rienecker

There's a big damn hole in my roof,
But I don't wanna look at it.

At night it's dark and black
And I'm scared of the dark
And black holes are the most
Godawful things in the cosmos,
So I hide
Under the blankets
Where it's dark anyway.

In daytime I can't look at it,
It's a fucking hole in my roof,
I don't have the the means
To fix a thing like that,
Isn't that the landlord’s job?

In Summer the sun cuts through
And finds the coffee table,
Melts a bowl of M&Ms to paste,
So I put it in the freezer
With some peanuts
And pretend
It's a snickers bar.

In Fall the rain gets in,
So I let it fill up a kiddie pool
On the floor underneath
And pretend it's summer,
Freeze my balls off in there
But at least
There ain't a hole in my roof.

Don't bother me about it,
I know it's there,
I know every crag and crevice
And every goddamn dimension of the thing,

But what I don't know is
Jack Shit About Roofing,
And I've got no money,
Spent it all on m&ms and
Kiddie pools,
Maybe the fucking landlord
Will fix it,
Isn't that his job?

I don't wanna look is all,
If you're so intent on being helpful,
You can shut up
And go grab me a snickers bar.
